Mr Kleb’s “Ina Kwana” takes inspiration from a spontaneous musical moment by the popular Nigerian pastor Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, widely known as Odumeje. The original moment was not presented as a carefully rehearsed studio performance; it came together naturally as Odumeje sang and developed the melody in the moment. That gives the piece an unusual origin, rooted in spontaneity rather than a conventional songwriting process.
Mr Kleb’s remix builds on that memorable moment and gives it a more developed musical setting. Instead of replacing the character of the original, the remix brings the spontaneous melody into a recorded format that listeners can revisit. “Ina Kwana” is therefore as much about the musical moment behind it as it is about the finished recording, connecting an unrehearsed expression from Odumeje with Mr Kleb’s own interpretation.
